LOUDEN BARN PLANS
To Modernize Your Farm--Loudenize Your Barn

Published by the LOUDEN MACHINERY COMPANY, FAIRFIELD, IOWA, 1919.

ILLUSTRATED 1919 BOOK OF OVER 30 BARN PLANS

An important part of the history of farming & rural agriculture in America is recorded in this hard-to-find old 112-page catalog, now accurately reproduced on an ARCHIVAL CD ROM.

The CD also includes a copy of the 30-page booklet: "The Louden Barn Bulletin, Volume 2, Number 1, February 1917."

The Louden Company dates back to 1867 when William Louden made a patent on a hay carrier hence starting a revolution in the agricultural products line. The company also inspired a new type of barn, farmers could now build a bigger barn that held more equipment. Before Louden Machinery, farmers were forced to build a smaller barn so that hay could be bailed out of the top. The Louden company was well-known for designing facilities for farmers. They would create blue print plans and even construct the barn if needed. By the time William Louden had died in 1931 it was estimated that Louden Machinery had designed almost 25,000 barns around the world. The company designed everything from major hog facilities to small farm barns.

There are many illustrations of various size barns and some other farming equiptment in this catalog.
